  • Been Busy!

Well the count down is here.

My wife is due to give birth to our first child on Sept 17th. I still don't have a start date for my new job and I am getting slightly stressed8|

I think it is the enormity of it all. Still I am amazed at how things have worked out. We have been able to pay all our bills since I left work in April. Tax refunds and a pension refund are just a couple of the things that have come through.

I think it reminds me a little of when I was growing up and my dad was out of work. We never went without and that's the same now, God is faithful. Though I may be stressing a bit, I am so thankful for the time to get my head right after my last job and the time to do all the following :

Decorate the nursey, and spare room
    Paint the fence
    Paint the windows
    Stick up loads of shelves
Pick up Baby stuff from various ebayers!
Explain Communion to 60 6 year olds
    Explain communion to year 8's
Do a couple of school assembelies
Read up on Baptism and Infant baptism (so I can make a decision of whether we have a christening or dedication)
    Paint the new vicarage
Attend morning prayers (experience common worship!)
Go to a water colours session (I will post them later)
Be able to spend time preparing for leading sorting the worship and encouraging the worship team ( they are all better than me)
    Read loads of books
Watch Blackadder (nearly all the way through)
Prepation for being a dad(reading an ace book, will post a review)
    Watched a load of films
    And loads more!!!!!

MOST of all having time to think, to pray, to live each moment. Life is for living and I can't help but think of the positives, I have a beautiful wife a baby on the way, though we don't have much money we are rich. Maybe that is what Jesu meant when he said the Blessed are the poor for they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven.

  • WASTE

Well another week has gone by. I still don't have a start date and the paperwork I have sent won't be looked at until Monday!

WASTE- I sttod up on Sunday night and church and told people that I have a new job but no start date which has been a massive release. I also shared that the hardest part of all this is the not knowing. My personality type is such that I have to be doing something, I cannot sit around at home all day doing nothing. I need to be in the midst of something.

What I am trying to say that we often see life as a waste of time when we aren't doing what we want to be doing, when actullay life is so valuable. There is that moment when this woman breaks open her expensive perfume (think really expensive Armani or the like). Jesus followers (ie christians like me) said what a waste that could have gone to the poor. Do you know soemthing without thinking the disciples revealed something in what they said. It was a waste to lavish something precious on Jesus. When faced with a day in front of me I plow into painting the fence, doing the washing, decorating, doing stuff.

It erks me when politicians call me a consumer, as if I am some mindless entity who has no understanding or intelligence. I don't go with the herd I can think for myself, I have reasons for why I belive, why I live my life and make my choices. Yes at times I am a hypocrite but my desire my passion is to live like Jesus did. What that looks like I guess is the part which takes time but that is not a waste.
